Happy 4th Birthday Kaitlyn! (I know it's a little late!)

We love our little girl, who I can't believe is 4!! This is the strawberry castle cake that I thought I would try and make, but oddly enough-Pablo ended up doing the whole thing...I simply have no cake decorating skill...you should have seen it before he fixed it...it was awful!! Kaitlyn had some of her cousins over along with some of her friends!! She later told me that this was her best birthday ever!! It is also funny because we celebrated the day before on a sunday, and so when it was her actual birthday she got a little confused and said, "It's my birthday again? So, I'm 5 now?" It was so cute! She is a really great kid for the most part...and a great big sis!! Can't wait until next year!! WE LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH!! Happy Birthday once again!!

What I am Grateful For

First off, I know I'm a little late, but I still couldn't resist telling what I am grateful for. It goes without saying, but I am very grateful for a husband who loves his family more than anything else. He treasures his kids, even when they give us a hard time. He works so hard for us. I know it isn't his dream job, and I hope that someday, I'll be able to help change that for him. All I know is that I am lucky to have found him. He makes me be a better person. I love him so much. Through our trials, it truly has only made us that much stronger. I cannot imagine a life without him.

I also am grateful for my 2 little wonders. They make me laugh, cry, and even angry at times, but as any other parent knows, you love them anyway. Overall, I know I am lucky. My kids are pretty good overall. I know it could be much worse, and so for that I am thankful. They make me want to be a better wife, mother, nurturer, cook, etc. It seems like when I am having a bad day, one or both of them find a way to just make me laugh. They are both so funny and at least for now, they love each other so much.

I am also grateful for my good friends. They let me talk, and even without saying a word, they know when I am happy or when I try to pretend I am happy, or sad. I apparently say it with just a look, and only those who know me best, know the difference. They are always looking out for me, especially my good friend Melissa. I sware that girl knows me better than I know myself sometimes. I love it though. She knows exactly what to say or do without me even asking!! I love ya lots!! I hope I can be even a better friend as the years go by and that I will continue to be friend with all of ya!!

Now, on to my family, and that would be to those of you who are "normal." You know what I mean. Thanks for all you do for us, for thinking of us, helping us out, and most importantly just being there no matter what. I love you guys so much and it is just sad we can't get together more often. I hope someday that will be more of a possibility. Thank you for all your love over the years, the prayers, the laughs, the great times we've shared. Thank you for it all!! Thank you for the concerts as well!!

I know I also couldn't do any of this without my Saviour. I have felt his love and guidance and I know he is watching over us. I am so thankful for the gospel and for all of its teachings. I am so grateful for all he has done for each and every one of us. I love the fact that I have been able to overcome so many things, and I know if I hadn't had this knowledge, I fear my life would be very different. I look at my kids and think, "How can you not believe there is a God?" The precious miracle of life is so extraordinary. Someone with a higher power had to have been able to make that happen. It is so amazing! So, for all He has done for my family, and friends I cannot even begin to express my love and thanks, but all I can do is say thanks, and continue to be the best person that I can possibly be.

My Scary Little Witch and Mummy!!

This is mine(Carrie's) and I was trying to go for a vampire look, but it wasn't quite what I wanted, but it works. I feel bad Pablo ended up carving all of ours, Evan was whinny and so he said he'd rather carve of course, than to deal with fussiness. So that is why he got that job!
This is obviously Evan's, but we should have put in a third tooth, it poked through on Halloween night! Oh well.
In the end...Kaitlyn's is on the...and Pablo's is on the...

Kaitlyn spent like two hours designing her pumpkin, she had to make it just perfect!!

Just trying to get it right.

I came up with Evan's costume last minute, but didn't think it out completely, plus I ran out of time. The bandages kept falling off and he just wouldn't let me tie anymore of them on, but even so I still thought it turned out okay for a first time effort. Next time, I'll definitely think it out better!

Kaitlyn woke up that morning and the fist thing she said, in a very worried tone, "Mom, we better hurry or we'll miss Halloween. We need to get our costumes on right now!" I just started laughing and gave her the biggest hug ever. I love it when kids are just so funny. And all this happened when she woke me up in my bed. It must have been around 8 or so. I'm glad my kids don't wake up really, really early, and that was early enough that day. Usually she'll sleep until 9 or 9:30. 'Gotta Love It.

Our Festive Treat Day!!

We decided to make some mummies for our "Family Night Phantom" treat to give out. I saw this idea on the t.v. and thought it was easy and cute. 1st- take a twinkie and then put frosting all over, except for the bottom (unless you want to) 2nd- then get a ribbon tip for icing and make x's all over the twinkie until done 3rd-put m&m's on the top for eyes to poke out. It took a little bit, but it was fun!

Kaitlyn enjoyed hers a lot because she put M&M's all over!

This was just part of the mess, but well worth it. We did this, as you can see on the 27th. I had fun too, and the best part was snacking as you went along!!
